Trigger Warning: This podcast includes discussions of racism and the Atlanta shooting that took place on March 16, 2021

Since the pandemic started there has been a lot of time for reflection within my personal life. The feeling of isolation combined with the political movements that have been going on in the world has allowed for some much-needed introspection. Being an Asian-Canadian has always been a part of my identity but it was never something that shown in media when I was a child. Now there is more Asian representation in the media our culture is being more normalized and brought to light which is amazing but it does not erase the effects of anti-Asian racism experienced by previous generations. While there has been a cultural shift in the west to include more Asian content there are racist ideologies that still persist within society even though it is more inclusive than it was previously. In this podcast, my cousin Stacie and I will discuss what it was like to grow up Asian-Canadian in predominately white communities and how isolating that experience can be.
